DBN Elite is proud to present its Coaching Certificate in Applied Clinical Therapy (ACT).

ACT Coaching Certificate - Level 1

The ACT program allows students to learn the basics in preparation for their introduction into the coaching field. This intensive 10-month program serves as a stepping stone for those who wish to pierce into the mental health field and start practicing as a coach.

Once completed, further courses can be offered for specializations in the field of mental health, such as couples / family counseling, organizational settings, executive coaching & communications.

Program Structure: Theory and Practicum

Total Program Duration: August 2026 – July 2027 (Approx. 11 months)

 

Phase 1 – Theory ( 4 months) 

  • Approximately 200 hours of theory in mental health approaches, clinical skills and ethical guidelines (including role-playing)
  • Approximately 10-15 hours of coursework per week 
  • Course modules will include:
    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
    • Dialectal Behavioural Therapy 
    • Ethics and Clinical Writing 
    • Working with Resistant Clients & Motivational Interviewing

Phase 2 – Practicum ( 6 months)

  • Applying learnt coaching skills and techniques to real clients with guided supervision
  • 2 hours of clinical supervision per week for every two clients
  • Supervision by Dr. Bita Sharifzadeh Clinical Psychologist and practicing certified A.C.T Coach 

*Practicum Eligibility Criteria

The 6-month practicum placement is available to students who meet the following standards:

      • Passing grade in the theory portion
      • Demonstrated professionalism throughout the program
      • Adherence to the program’s Code of Conduct
      • Ethical comprehension and consistent application in practice

Candidates who have applied will have their file reviewed by the clinical director. 

If the candidate meets critieria, a brief interview will be scheduled. 

 

Registration Opens:

May 19th, 2026 

 

Deadline:

June 1st, 2026 

 

Upon acceptance to the ACT Coaching Certification Level 1 program, the student will require to complete registration. 

 

Tuition cost will be applicable during the registration process. 

Orientation: Monday August 3rd, 2026 

 

Phase 1 – Theory 

  • Start of Theory Cohort: Monday August 17th, 2026
  • End of Cohort (Theory): December 18th, 2026 

Phase 1 – Practicum 

  • Start of Practicum: Monday, January 4th, 2027
  • End of Practicum: July 4th, 2027
